The display cases in this room and others on the first floor were well-planned elements added by Post. Plates from the Kremlin Service, from the early to mid nineteenth century, reflect Nicholas I’s desire to return to a “traditional” Russian style. A soup plate from Her Majesty’s Own Service, produced for Elizabeth I of Russia in the late 1750s, was part of the first service made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory. An excellent example of a piece from one of these orders is the basket from the Order of St. This type of provenance was extremely attractive to Post, who embraced Russian porcelain for its beauty, craftsmanship, and direct association to the imperial families. Knights of the various orders honored for their government and military service used these pieces when they dined at the Winter Palace on the feast day of their patron saint. The most prominent pieces displayed in the Russian porcelain room belong to four order services commissioned by Catherine the Great in the late eighteenth century. While her acquisitions in the Soviet Union formed only the nucleus of her Russian collection, her experience there sparked a passion that lasted the rest of her life. Young women often began years before their marriage to produce the collection of textiles that would be presented as gifts to their future husband and his family. The traditional wedding customs that were practiced widely in the 16th century and lasted in some remote areas into the early 20th century placed great importance on needlework. ![]() ![]() By the time you get Angrath to 8 loyalty, you’ll likely have used his +1 ability at least four times, and graveyards tend to become pretty full on their own over the course of a game anyways. Like many planeswalker ultimates, Angrath’s final ability isn’t something that most players will want to build an entire deck around however, there’s no doubt that this -8 packs a punch. This ability even has a tiny bit of political potential since you can borrow one opponent’s creature to team up against another opponent. In the right deck, this ability is more akin to Slave of Bolas than Act of Treason, and I’ll happily pay three loyalty for that effect. ![]() There are a lot of strong creatures in Oathbreaker with a CMC of 3 or less, and even if you end up targeting a larger creature, you can always use another sacrifice outlet to get the same end result. Three loyalty may seem like a bit of a high cost for an Act of Treason, but this ability does come with the additional upside of sometimes functioning as spot removal. Discard-based strategies are obviously a great fit for this kind of effect, but this ability doesn’t require any additional synergy/support to do some serious damage over the course of a game. ![]() In a four-player game, this ability will essentially be doing a collective 6 damage to your opponents, and it will get rid of somehwere between zero and three cards from your opponents’ hands (depending on whether or not they’re already empty-handed). This +1 ability is pretty solid, especially in a multiplayer format like Oathbreaker. Let’s begin by taking a look at the individual abilities on Angrath, the Flame-Chained. As always, I’ll be going over three different builds of this Oathbreaker with three different Signature Spells. The selection of Oathbreakers in Rakdos colors is somewhat limited at the moment, but I think this iteration of Angrath is one of the more interesting and flexible options currently available to the color combination. In this case, your doctor might recommend an ‘X-ray guided’ lumbar puncture. Very rarely, a lumbar puncture might be technically difficult (for example, if you have curvature of the spine, or if you are obese). Make sure you are comfortable – you need to keep as still as possible during the procedure. In this case, you are asked to sit leaning forwards onto a pillow that is resting on a table in front of you. Sometimes, you might need to sit up instead. To have a lumbar puncture, you usually lie on your side and curl up, with your knees pulled up towards your chest. What happens during the procedure?īefore you have a lumbar puncture, the doctor explains what it involves and asks you to sign a consent form. If you usually have medicine to thin your blood, your medical team might ask you to stop taking it a few days before the procedure to reduce your risk of bleeding. Tell your medical team about any medicines, vitamins and other supplements you are taking. You can eat and drink as normal before the test. You might have a blood test before the procedure to check that you don’t have any problems with blood clotting. You should be given information about the procedure and how to prepare for it. Most people who need a lumbar puncture have the procedure as an outpatient and do not have to stay in hospital overnight. Having the chemotherapy through a lumbar puncture can help the drugs reach your brain and spinal cord. This might be the case if you have CNS lymphoma, or if your medical team think you are at high risk of your lymphoma spreading to your CNS. You might also need a lumbar puncture if your medical team thinks you would benefit from having chemotherapy injected directly into the fluid around your brain and spinal cord ( intrathecal chemotherapy). Your medical team decides what tests you need based on your individual circumstances. Most people with these types of lymphoma do not develop lymphoma in their central nervous system and not everyone with these types of lymphoma needs a lumbar puncture. This happens occasionally with some types of high-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma, such as: The lymphoma might begin in your central nervous system (primary CNS lymphoma) or it might spread there from elsewhere in your body (secondary CNS lymphoma). This is called central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma. You might need a lumbar puncture if your specialist suspects that you have lymphoma in your brain or spinal cord. ![]() Sometimes a lumbar puncture is used to give medicines into the fluid around your brain and spinal cord, through an injection into your lower back. ![]() They might also run specialised tests on the sample.
